Ten years together
2016 - 2017
How We Met
Our story began, meeting through friends and several Friday nights out, within a few weeks Sam took Lydia to Grandma’s birthday to meet his family. Shortly after we were then living together at Corin's and throughout this year, we became inseparable. We moved to Marchwood to live with Sarah, oh and Rodney, who definitely ate more Shreddies than he should have!
2018-2019
Our Engagement
Sam proposed to Lydia on a cruise aboard the ‘Independence of the Seas’. A commitment to each other for the next 8 years before our wedding in 2026. Lydia’s love of the Titanic made this the most perfect proposal. Next, we rented our first house, which turned out to be full of horror stories! But at 20 years old we were proud to be living together in our own space.
2020-2021
Our Family
The year of lockdown. We brought home our kitty cats, the first additions to our family, Milo & Jasper. Moving to Christchurch, we had many happy memories. This was the year that Sam introduced Lydia to the 80’s. We spent many evenings laughing, cooking and listening to music. Many songs will always take us back to this year!
2022-2023
Our First House
Buying our first house! After several rented houses we finally had our own home! We went to Spain twice this year and had our first skiing trip together, later in the year we took our first trip to Greece, paddle boarding, card games, pig island! We took the first of many camping trips with friends, in the rain... Then in October 2023, in true “us” fashion we spontaneously decided to get a dog and off we went to pick up our Asha.
2024-2025
Adventures
A year filled with many dog walks. We're pretty sure we've covered every route in the New Forest at this point. We walked 41k across the forest from one end to the other, we had such a laugh! …On Lydia's birthday, Sam finally convinced her that sushi is amazing after several attempts, starting our love of Japanese food. 2025 was a special year. Thailand! Hiking, Elephants, 7 hours wandering in circles in the airport. We didn't let the rain stop us, we went swimming in the sea anyway, what a laugh! And the one day it didn't rain at all we went on a three hour hike chatting away and pushing each other to keep going to get to the top.
2026
The Wedding
The year Sam & Lydia become Mr & Mrs Bailey and we begin our next chapter as husband and wife.
